Submitting Reference Photos
The artist works from reference photographs you supply to her. Items in the photo can be eliminated, or inserted, depending on your desires, as in adding or eliminating another person or item.
The utmost professional care will be taken with your original photographs, however, the artist assumes no liability in case of an accident beyond her control. Please be sure to mail them in a way that they will not be damaged. Your photographs will be returned to you with your finished portrait.
You may send color laser copies, but please be sure of the clarity. Since the eyes are the most important aspect of the portrait, she will need to be able to see the eye clearly and the line crease above the eye. It is impossible for the artist to create clarity from a blurry photo, or one that is too small to see the eye detail clearly. If there is a glare on someone's glasses, the artist will not be able to "make up" what the eye looks like if she cannot see it, both eyes are never the same.
Billfold size photographs are not acceptable unless they can be enlarged clearly. Please make sure your photos are at least 4" x 6", preferably 5" x 7" or larger. If you are mailing color laser copies, please enlarge them to the acceptable size during the copying process. If the portrait is to be done from an old photograph, they usually were a little smaller, so please have them enlarged.
If you are sending a digital photo via email, please make sure the size will meet the minimum when printed out. You may either email these to the artist, or send them by regular mail. If your reference photo contains one subject, the sizes above are best, if it contains a lot of people, please make sure the artist can see each person's eyes clearly.
The artist is more than happy to enlarge your photograph's size for you at a small additional fee, see "Portrait Fees/Info" Please indicate this in your contact email.
The artist can photograph your subjects, if you prefer, for an additional fee. If you live outside the Tulsa area, the artist can travel to your site at an additional fee to cover travel.
