Whether doing a commissioned portrait of a child, adult, or an animal, Janet wants each portrait to be very special; "Eyes are the key element in bringing depth of the subject's spirit to the portrait, and that is the utmost important contribution I can make. Through studying the subject closely, and drawing every angle and dimple, I feel I grow to know them the peron in the portrait and it''s hard to say goodbye."
Original portrait drawings have the softer look of pencil with more detail and subtle shading. Most examples shown are scanned images of the originals and the process loses some of the softness in the representation. A few examples are scanned images of a laser copy, which results in the lines and shading being darkened.
